About Us

Circle City Ringers is an auditioned, bronze-level community handbell ensemble located in the greater Indianapolis, Indiana area. The group is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization and is a proud member of the Handbell Musicians of America (formerly American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGEHR)).

Our mission is to:

    • Increase awareness of the art of English Handbell ringing
    • Provide ongoing education about English Handbell techniques
    • Build a distinguished reputation by performing locally and nationally in both sacred and secular contexts
    • Achieve musical excellence as a professional-grade community ensemble
    • Encourage others to learn about and experience the art of English Handbell ringing

Each season we actively recruit, audition and select the finest handbell musicians in the Indianapolis area. Under the musical direction of Mike Keller, we perform year-round and are available for many different types of appearances including:

Contact us if you would like to add a touch of elegance to your special event, to host us in concert at your venue, to schedule a workshop with your handbell choir or to request audition information.

At present, the ensemble rehearses weekly on 5 octaves of Malmark handbells and 5 octaves of Malmark chimes. Otterbein United Methodist Church in Indianapolis has graciously allowed us the use of their rehearsal space and some of their equipment; in return, we ring periodically for their worship services.

We simply cannot adequately express our gratitude to the Otterbein United Methodist Church for their generosity and for allowing us the opportunity to bring our music (and lots of big smiles) to so many people!
